Zerona™

Recently introduced to the market of non-surgical enhancements, Zerona™ is described as such: "a non-invasive body slimming system designed to remove fat and slim the body without any surgery, pain, or needles. It is the first non-invasive body contouring procedure to effectively remove excess fat."

Zerona™ gives men and women even more options in zapping away fat! If the results of diet and exercise seemed to have skipped right over an individual's problem area(s), Zerona™ may sound like a lifesaver. This laser fat reduction method is said to allow patients the benefit of continuing daily activity "without interruption from surgery, pain, wounds, or garments."

Here are the basics of how this low level laser treatment may provide a person with optimal fat reduction results:

How does Zerona™ work?

Zerona™ offers a gentle experience for the patient, utilizing the Erchonia® Laser Scanner. This is regarded as the safest and most researched low level laser in the world. The Erchonia® Laser Scanner is specially designed for this non-invasive body contouring procedure and liposuction. It is applied externally and, through double blind clinical trials, has proven to emulsify adipose tissue (fat tissue on the body).

Zerona™ is designed to liquefy the fat that sits directly below the skin, which is called subcutaneous fat. This is how inches will "melt" away. Fat cells will still exist in the person's body, even with the help of Zerona™; however, this laser treatment allows the fat cells to shrink and release the excess amounts of fat into the intercellular space. The excess fat will then pass through the body during the process of detoxification. Patients who would like to remove large volumes of fat that sit below the skeletal muscle - visceral fat - are not considered ideal candidates for Zerona™. In these cases, liposuction may be best procedure for those who have more visceral fat than subcutaneous fat.

ZERONA™ patients are typically treated six times over two weeks. Treatment is delivered 20 minutes to the front of the body and 20 minutes to the back of the body, with each of the six sessions lasting 40 minutes. The patient will rest comfortably in a horizontal position during this time. This laser treatment offers no bruising or downtime.

What type of results should a patient expect?

Patients who took part in a recent Zerona™ study lost an average of 3.64 inches from their waist, hips, and thighs. In order to gain optimal results, patients will need to return to the doctor's office for follow-up sessions. It is important for patients to commit to a healthy diet and regular so that they will maintain their results and lose more inches from their problem area(s).

Consulting a qualified cosmetic doctor is the best route to determining if Zerona™ is the best match for your specific needs, and whether or not it can be used in combination with other body contouring procedures, such as a tummy tuck or liposuction.
