Cosmetic Assurance Insurance

Cosmetic Assurance Insurance Although complications after a cosmetic procedure are unlikely, like all surgeries, there is some risks involved. Due to the fact that most insurance companies do not cover cosmetic surgery, they also do not cover complications as a result of the surgery. Luckily, there is a solution to give you added peace of mind and relieve the financial burden of an emergency room visit and hospital stay.

CosmetAssure® is an insurance program that helps cover post-surgery medical expenses. If your plastic surgeon is a participating member in the CosmetAssure program, your post-op medical care is covered should complications arise. Listed below are 17 procedures that CosmetAssure covers:

• Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
• Breast Augmentation
• Breast Lift
• Breast Reduction
• Browlift
• Buttock Lift
• Cheek Implants
• Chin Augmentation
• Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery
• Facelift
• Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)
• Liposuction
• Lower Body Lift
• Otoplasty
• Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)
• Thigh Lift
• Upper Arm Lift

Cosmetic Assurance Insurance CosmetAssure applies only if you are admitted to an accredited hospital, emergency room, or surgical center due to complications as a result of your covered cosmetic procedure. It also applies if it is medically necessary and it is based on an approved admitting diagnosis. Also, the post-op care must occur within 30 days of your cosmetic procedure.

Dr. Jack Fisher has been using the program for four years. “My patients and I have been very pleased with the assurance provided in the unlikely event of a complication in the month after surgery. Two years ago, I had an abdominoplasty patient develop a pulmonary embolus post operatively. The patient was very thankful for the coverage CosmetAssure provided. She came back a year later for more surgery.” The amount of services and expenses covered by CosmetAssure is extensive. For instance, the cost for hospitalization of 24 hours or more and ICU/ Trauma Admittance includes services of physicians and registered nurses, anesthetics and their administration, laboratory tests, oxygen and its administration, blood and blood derivatives that are not donated or replaced, and their administration, radiological procedures, and prescription drugs.

Your plastic surgeon must be a participating member in the CosmetAssure program. Click here to find a surgeon near you. It’s reassuring to know that your plastic surgeon has you covered if things don’t go to plan after your cosmetic procedure. Visit the CosmetAssure website for more information.
