What is
Thermage?
As we grow older, we begin to show signs of aging. Cosmetic surgery offers individuals a chance to improve upon their appearance and regain a more youthful look. However, there are individuals that do not want to receive any incisions or experience long periods of downtime in order to achieve this cosmetic goal. Thermage is an innovative procedure that provides a solution. The Thermage procedure is a very safe, non-invasive procedure that reduces the signs of aging skin, giving you a more youthful appearance. There is no surgery involved with this procedure. Thermage is performed through the use of ThermaCool, a radio-frequency device that allows for tightening of skin without injury to the skin’s top layer (epidermis). How it works is by transferring deep, uniform, sustained heat in the tissue underneath the surface of the skin and produces contraction and tightening of excessively lax skin. The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated. This results in a more youthful appearance, and all without any incisions or downtime.
The results of the Thermage procedure will be seen gradually over a 3 to 6 month period, sometimes sooner (results vary from patient to patient). Some patients will require, or may desire, a second Thermage procedure in order to maintain the results.
