Case Details:

She is very thin to begin with, having a very narrow upper chest diameter. She indicated to me by showing me pictures of other patients preoperatively that she wanted more of a "round" appearance to the breast. There are certainly patients that want this type of look, as it all comes down to personal preference. My choice of the high profile implant in this patient was due to the fact that she was so narrow (her breast base diameter), and she did not mind a "rounder look" to the breasts. With this larger volume implant (in a thin patient with very little breast tissue), I have decreased the likelihood that she will get "rippling" by using the high profile style of implant.
