Cost of Skin Rejuvenation

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the cost of skin rejuvenation differs based on the type of treatment being administered. In 2010, the ASAPS reports the following average skin rejuvenation fees:

How is skin rejuvenation performed?

For patients receiving facial injectables, skin rejuvenation is administered via an injection directly at the treatment site. A topical anesthetic may be applied prior to the injection, except for those treatments approved for the addition of lidocaine.

For patients undergoing laser skin rejuvenation, a hand-held light beam is applied to the treatment area over a series of several sessions. The number of sessions depends on the type of treatment, the degree of the patient’s condition and the skin’s response to treatment.

Risks of Skin Rejuvenation

The risks of skin rejuvenation are minimal and they depend on the specific type of treatment. However, any skin treatment may include risk of redness, discomfort, or swelling following treatment. There is also the risk that the skin will not respond to treatment; however, most patients report some degree of satisfaction with their
results.

Skin Rejuvenation Recovery

For both facial injectables and laser treatments, most skin rejuvenation patients are able to resume normal activities the same day.

Who is a good candidate for skin rejuvenation?

Ideal candidates for skin rejuvenation are healthy adults affected by any of the conditions listed above. Pregnant women should not undergo skin rejuvenation treatments unless directed to by their physician.
